bada450r Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 about my set up.i got a 421 cub,19 cc domes, time advance +7,shrears inframe, lighten flywheel, vforce 3,w billet intake,34 pjs,cel needle,1 down from the top[clip],45 slides,55 pilot,148 mains,so cal resident[sea level].i already runed this setup n it runs good, but i think its to rich while on idle.i say that because it splutters while on idle,i want to put a smaller pilot, but ive been told not to mess with that to much.any input would be great. by the way screw is out 2 turns :: Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 pilot seems big to me but i dont have much experience with the pj34's. if its sputtering drop it down one size and see what happens. youre not gonna mess anythnig up tryin it out.. Quote
dajogejr Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 On the PWKs series....55 is definately rich. In fact...that's what they use for Meth Motors 'round here for the pilot jet. I have a 50 pilot in my cub setup, pretty much same as yours, and it's still rich. Since I've been at the track (300ft sand drags) last 6 times out...wasn't a big deal. But, I have a dune trip coming up....and I'm going to drop it down to 45 or 48s...since, I won't be WOT all the time. In my PWK 35's I run 150 Mains (may have a 1/2 turn out on my powerjets, depending on temps) CEL needle middle clip and ...well, Pilots been discussed. Quote

rocketboy Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 (edited) common jetting for that is 150mains and 50 pilots with cel needle in middle clip ,ive ran 55 pilots on a OEM cylinder dune port with no problems to me a 55pilot isnt really very big ..but anyways you wont blow your bike up by running a lean pilot so dont be afraid to drop her down till it clears up ,im not a big fan of cel needles i prefer the DEK 's ,but it sounds to me l ike you need to go down to a 48 pilot and see if it improves ,try the choke trick to see what she wants for fuel ,sometimes low rpm hesatation can act like a bog and make yo u wanna pull your hair out Edited October 10, 2006 by rocketboy Quote
dajogejr Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 True enough, Denny.... I've done my reseach....and CEL seemed to be the common choice. And, I'm very pleased with how mine runs. I would try another needle...but, within the next few months I'm switching to meth....so, all new 39's it looks like. I got the CELs brand new in a trade for $$ and my stock carbs/filters...so, it was an easy choice... Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 but, within the next few months I'm switching to meth.... dave, dont let the internet police hear you sayin that..theyll be searchin your basement!! Quote
dajogejr Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 METHANOL...METHANOL.... Damnit...another strip search.... Yeah, I bounce between calling it meth and alky... Neither one sounds good to the wrong ears...lol.... As long as they don't find the porn stash.... :yelrotflmao: Quote
