or pull your plugs and let them dry out and maybe hit them with some very fine grit sand paper to bust the carbon off.. just let the motor sit with the plugs out and it will dry out...

ok guys I have tried both ideas. and nothing.....is there anything else I can do?

IF it is flooded...remove air filter(s) and hold the throttle wide open.

Spray a little ether in there....and it'll start.

I'd just buy 2 brand new plugs at 2.00 a pop instead of trying to clean old ones....

Banshee-man....I don't get it.

In one thread you'd rather spend more money on FMF brand silencer packing then used tried and true (but cheaper) corning house insulation....

But you'd actually sandpaper plugs instead of just dropping brand new BR8ES in???

Ok I will try that...but heres another stupid question what is Ether?

Starting fluid...

Just a QUICK spray....do NOT spray a lot.

You could also pull the plugs and kick it a few times...try and force some out the spark plug hole.

What makes you think it's flooded so bad?

ether is a really combustable chem in a spray can.. be carfule that shit blows up ez...

and yes when your at home or in the dune and dont have extra plugs... ill breakout some sandpaper and clean the fouled ones to get it started... dude says he wants to get it started today before he goes out tomorrow... most shops are closed so where is he getting plugs by then?

Funny thing is....he's posting it at 9:30 PM...burning the midnight oil as we all have....

I'd still like to know exactly what happened or what was done to where he thinks it's flooded....

was it running befor you think you flooded it out? doing any of these thing above WILL start a flooded motor... something seem like its not flooded ...how long did you let it sit before trying to start it... if your getting spark... try push starting it... pt the bike in 2nd gear and pull the clutch gt a good speed and jump on and dump the clutch if it dosent start like that its not flooded. that damn near starts anything...

unless a plug is carbon bridged, you cant just sandpaper a plug and expect to unfowl it. pugs fowl on the ceramic insulator, not the electrodes.

incorrect... you can sand both sides of the metal and clean them to bare metal and it will work... just dry out the plug a few min and your good to go... thats what we did at the track when we fouled them out right before a race. carry some paper with you and a wrench. worked everytime.

Regarding using old plugs. While I have personally never been a fan of it, unless no other option is available. The best way to clean them is with a torch. Just clamp it in a vise and heat the end of it till it is glowing red. They will work again, but don;t even seem to be as good as a new one. Sandpaper doesn;t work good.
