herbanshee Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 What a pain in the ass! I was inspecting/adjusting the clutch and went to torque them down and bolt snapped right off..............oh I was pissed. So either bolt was compromised or my torque wrench is off. Needless to say I now need an inner hub with good clean threads. I just missed one on ebay for 5$. Thanks! Audrey Quote
Big Blue Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Take the hub and flip it over, use a small drill bit and run it into the screw from the back side and it will push it out. I did this a while back. Quote

I did this a while back. if you do need a new inner hub i'd just buy a new one .i just bought one a couple weeks back from local yamaha dealer and it was only $30.00 new.then you know its good. Quote
Big Blue Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I didnt have to drill anything I just used a small bit to bite on the screw from the other side and basically threaded it right out, I dont remember the size of the bit but anything smaller than the hole will work the one I used was about the size of a pensil tip. herbanshee Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 Great suggestion fellas! I suggested drilling and tapping but hubby didnt feel comfortable and thought bolt could be hardened. So by taking it off and drilling from the backside with a smaller bit it will inturn catch the remainder of the bolt and actually start unscrewing it on the front side? Awsome! Quote
Big Blue Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Yep, I started to buy a new on and couldnt find one that day so I tried that and I worked great. Quote
