OnlyA2Stroke Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 I am looking to change one of my sprockets on my 06 Shee. I ride trails, hills, gravel roads, and tracks. I think I want a little more low end out of my bike. I know it is 14/41 is stock and see people change the FRONT to 13 and leave the rear stock. Well, I don't want a big change so, should I go to 40 on the rear and keep the front stock? I thought I read that 1 tooth up front equals 2 in the rear. Correct me if I am wrong. I am just wanting to pull a small amount, or should I just leave it stock. Can someone point me to the directions and info on how to remove the flywheel? Who should I go through to get it lightened? jlsparky7 Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Changing 1 tooth in the back wont make a noticable difference to most people. Go down 1 tooth in the front and you will be happy. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 one in the front equals 3 in the back just to let ya know. I would drop 2 off the rear. I dont think you would notice 1 enough to justify it. make sure you are not trying to put a new sprocket on a wore out chain. it will eat the new sprocket in no time. Quote
