bansheeryder_69 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 1. Where is the best place to get one? 2. How much does it usually run? 3. Would it be right with my mods? (porting,head,pipes,carbs,filters...soon to be +4) 4. How long should I expect for downtime with the cover mod? Thanks for looking. DILLON Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 FAST racing should have everything in stock. I think its about 300-350 with the modded cover. lock ups are not usally needed untill you hit about 80-85 hp and up. jeff will just send ya a new cover, I am not sure if you have to exchange your old one or not though. pm for all the details. he is FASTOYS on here if you did not know that all ready. or you can call him at 785-364-5325 Quote
odaen Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Wesw told me that Jim's Sand Toys or something like that charged 350 exchange, and you get a polished cover, which seemed reasonable. I paid substantially less than that for both of mine, but I had to polish the stupid thing, so 350 seemed worth it. Quote
dajogejr Posted September 21, 2006 Report Posted September 21, 2006 Yeah...they are nice...can't wait to get mine. But...to be honest, as said...unless you start pushing some real big ponies, it might be overkill. A good clutch setup with stiffer springs is probably all you need, unless you plan on building a drag bike later... badass and I both have Jeff's clutch...have been through the stock bike with bolt ons all the way up to our cub motors.... I still don't have my lockup, but Jeff's clutch with 6 HD springs gets my motor to the ground without any problems at all.... Quote
bansheeryder_69 Posted September 22, 2006 Author Report Posted September 22, 2006 I am shooting for eventually a full-mod 10mm drag bike. So I guess what I am basicly asking is if this clutch will work right now and then as I go keep working? Thanks for the replies Quote

Thanks for the replies yeah a great platform to start with, that way when you start getting more hp , you wont have to fork out the $ for a clutch to accomodate your hp gains.. Downtime depends on if you exchange for the " core charge " or get one pre made and keep your's . ITS WORTH IT !!! Quote
Justintoxicated Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I was going to make a post but I think it may help you as well so here goes my Q.. Since I have a lockup, if I don't take any of the weights off of it, can I go back to running stock springs with around 75 HP (have not had it run on a dyno yet) or would it be better to remove 1/2 the weights and keep my barnett springs in there? Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 I am running all the weights with stock springs on my alky bike, works great!! I would do the same on yours, if the clutch comes in to hard then start changing the weight of the arms. Quote
