ususlly i run castrol grand prix 2 stroke but lately ive been using the walmart supertech 2 stroke universal small engine oil.

whichever oil i run, i use it at the 25:1 ratio that is out of the yamaha owners manual.

I just saw on the net what is the recommended oil/gas ratio from Yamaha for a stock Banshee with Yamahalube, 24:1. So is 32:1 is going to do any hurt on a stock engine??

thank you

Factory recomendation is usualy conservative to allow for bad gas, lower quality oil...ect. I'm new to the Banshee,,just got my first one a few weeks ago. Been riding 2-smoke dirt bikes for years. Maxima 927 mixed 40:1 has been good luck for me. It doesn't carbon up the power valve like some oils and I can usualy get two years or more out of a top-end. Banshee (unless moded) doesn't have power valves to worry about,,,but I plan to keep using the same oil at the same ratio and see how it works.

Just get a brand and stick to it.................

If you want to get a poll going of the major three to five brands (Klotz, Amsoil, Redline, Yamalube, H1R etc.) and find out what the consensus is on that brand for ratio. And they are usually pretty consistant............

i use i think its called dumont? "racing sythetic" it come in a red tube/bottle and 32:1 in my gf's blaster
