fastcar01 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Well last weekend we were riding back to the truck and I was moving ok, 20 or so I guess, it was around a turn. I was hugging the right, as I usually do, and as soon as I came around the bend there was a full size dune buggy coming at me. He was right there and we hit. I went over the handle bars, and landed about 15-20 foot past my machine, which was turned and thrown up the bank a bit. I didn't really get knocked out, but a little dazed. My legs got it good when they hit the handlebars, and my wrist is still sore, plus my waist is sore. It could have been allot worse for sure, I got real lucky. The banshee has bent handlebars and a broken clutch lever. Now the dune buggy, that is another story! It snapped the A-arms, put the tire on the body, busted the body up, bent steering rods, it really messed it up! THe driver said he hurt his toe that was it. Best I can figure is his tire hit my bumper. The frame doesn;t appear tweaked at all. I don;t think it hurt it at all, aside from the bars/lever. SO just be careful out there, especiially around turns. Quote
Shee-Male Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 some of those buggy's are pretty wide and don't leave much room on a trail. Glad to hear you not busted up, an old customer I knew crested a hill and hit a crossing tractor, didn't live to tell about it  Be safe out there! Quote
csrmel Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 yeah trail riders can be road hogs somtimes. where i ride theres alot of 4x4 quads and it seems like they dont go that fast and they tend to hog the entire trail making it very hard to pass. now theres some really neat 4x4 guys out there and alot of them hear me comming up and pull to the right so i can pass them. thats cool and i waive and pass making sure NOT to kick up excessive dirt. some of them are actually pretty fast and we all ride together in packs. some on the other hand, are not so friendly. i end up zinging the throttle to get their attention. if they still wont yeild then i usually tag along close behind and pass when theres an opening. at that point i give em the bird. on rare occasion when someone deliberately tries to keep me from passing ill eventually get in front and roost them as if i am trying to bury them alive. thats one thing i like about banshee. you cant follow it if you dont have full body protection. the roost can almost kill. dajogejr Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 Glad to hear you're ok Dale... That's one reason I hate to take the lead...and around blinding turns like that, as fun as it is to blast through 'em....it's best to be cautious and back off. Where were you guys riding at? Quote
