Dcuzz23 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 On the engine cases there are small machined aluminium plugs that fit into the case in certain spots (around the sprocket) and if they arent installed tranny fluid spills out. there about the size of a lithium watch battery. i had a machinist make one and it worked for a while but it gave way. does anybody have one? they are not available at the dealership so hopefully someone has one Quote
Bill Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 I went through two of those plugs, they kept on popping back out when I was riding. What usually causes them to come out is A blocked vent or to much fluid in the case.My problem was the vent at the back/top of the case,it was plugged with mud. Dcuzz23 Posted September 5, 2006 Author Report Posted September 5, 2006 check here http://216.37.204.203/Yamaha_OEM/YamahaATV...;A=256&B=14 item 18 buddy they are available your stealership doesn't know shit. the link doesn't work like i had hoped. From the link choose your year and then go to "shift cam w/fork and item 18 is the plug that you are needing. After you install the new plugs take a punch and knife punch right over the top of the plug and they will not come out on their own. If you have any other questions let me know. YOUR THE MAN! i went through a bunch of shit looking for one then i just had one made. i looked in a lot of databases like the one you showed me but never looked in the the shift fork section->IDIOT!----thanxs a lot Quote
