im trying to buy a rz stroker engine from somebody. its got a wiseco +4 lonrod crank but it doesnt have the special pistons. seller says the squish is correct. can this mak :shoothead: :shoothead: e up for the lower pin height of the stock piston ?in that case youre wasting the long stroke dwell ?

I wouldn't get it if I were you. You would have to have some HUGE cut domes to make up for the 5mm longer rods, and the stroker kit. That or one hell of a spacer plate. The port timings would be totally jacked and it wouldn't run anywhere near like it should. If its a longrod crank and he's running stock pistons he's not doing the job right. You could get the setup, scrap the pistons and buy a wiseco 795 series piston kit and do it right, but you would need some stroker domes or a normal 2mm spacer plate to make it close to where it should be. The best way is to just get the cylinders ported for the stroke and run stroker domes in combination with some 795 pistons, IMO.

Red knows his shit ! i wish i woulda contacted him when i tried to build my stroker ....... FUCK THAT good lord the thing was a cow ! 71mph !!!!!!!!

When i took it to the local drag shop they practically were laughing there ass off telling me they dotn know how the motor even ran , Port timings were so off it ripped like a 4 stroke ( no powerband ) , fuckin my cases didnt match up and tranny oil was going into the crank and shooting out the exhaust , bad seals . I rode like that too for about a hour until getting smoked by a blaster :jesterlaugh: GAHAHAHAHAHAh got the problem fixed , cylnders ported for the stroke , new domes made , newpistons, and a spacer plate . and now im over the tripple digit mark.

My advice would be to , dont jump into something your not 100 % sure about because you will ultimately be spending more time and money then originally started .

What it would effectively do is lower the port height on all your ports by 5mm. This would be quite a bit off. If you had a full drag port on the cylinders it would still have port timing like an MX woods port. I think it would be possible to build a potent motor this way but chances are this if it is done this way that it is not done right. If it has a +4 stroke crank with stock length rods (like vitos +4 stroke crank) then it would almost be just like a wiseco hot rod +4mm stroke +5mm long rod with 795 series pistons. Maybe that is what he has and he just thinks that it is a hot rod +4 long rod crank.
