I got a pair of stock carbs that were set up for alcohol, but they did not have needles and slides with them. I used the same ones from my gas carbs. It idles and runs, but runs poorly when opening throttle and riding through the first couple of gears. When it hits pipe in third gear it pulls hard and will run ok (wot) through the rest of the gears. I moved needles down from 4th to 2nd groove, it only made a small improvement. I dont think lowering them to the first groove will make a huge difference, but I dont know. Quote
