Ducman Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 The little vent tube that comes out of the clutch cover by the water pump goes into a "T". One end goes up by the radiator and dead ends along with the vent line from the coolant overflow. I dont know where the other end of the "T" connects. It has a little spring clamp to hold it onto a fitting but I cant figure out where it would connect. Any Ideas? I cant find anything in the Clymers that helps me out. I wont be able to check this thread tommarow afternoon (Tues), Thanks. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 i had the same question when i did mine... the vent coming from the clutch cover goes to one end of the T then at the back of the motor near the swingarm there is another vent, that goes to the other part of the T then the other hose is a breather for both of them that goes over the top of the motor and hangs . i also thought that the coolant over flow connected to it but after looking closer and asking a few buddies on here i found where it rerally goes. Ducman Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 at the back of the motor near the swingarm there is another vent Thanks, I'll see if I can find that other vent near the swing arm. Quote

This is correct. I had a bit hearder time trying to get anyone to tell me what the OEM routing path was after the T. I guess I am still bitter about that. :baseball_innocent: Quote
BenBB Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 I changed mine after seeing locogato's routing; from the top rear of the motor to the tee just behind the lower radiator hose on the clutch cover, one end down into the clutch cover and the other end forward in between the front right motor mount bolts; you can see where it points down just behind the nerf bar here: Quote
Ducman Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 That little fitting in front of the swing arm pivot was a biotch to find, glad I finally tracked that little sucker down through, that would suck to get water and dirt into the gear box. Thanks Guys. Man the stock banshee has some retarded coolant hose/vent routing. I think next time I get a chance I'll do the shorter Loco gear box vent tube like in BennBB's pic and relocate the overflow to the front of the quad and clean up a bunch of long cluttery lines. Quote
