LiftdT4R Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Ok, I got my replacement ball joint boots for my stock arms, but I absolutely cannot get on the metal ring. It is a real fawkin pain when everything is covered in grease. My question is do I really need it? The force between the knuckle and the ball joint should hold the boot in place right? I think the ring is there just as some added insurnace but I relly don;t think it's nessiscary. Besides that, 2 out of the 4 rings are bad, and I could not find replacements anywhere for them. I'll take a pic if I'm not being too clear, but it looks like a key ring, and seems to seal the ball joint boot to the a-arm. Thanks, Quote
dawarriorman Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 If the boots are on there tight enough that a little tug won't move them, then I wouldn't worry about. But Id still try and get them on. BTW, where did you get replacement boots from, I didn't know anybody made some. Quote
LiftdT4R Posted August 12, 2006 Author Report Posted August 12, 2006 Thanks, I really don't think they're going on, http://www.hy-tech-atv.com/index.html is the link, give 'em a calla nd tell them you need the Ball Joint Boots for Yamahas, I don't remember who I talked to, but he was pretty funny. Any other info on putting the rings back on? Quote
