Tim573 Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I rebuilt my 2000 banshee and it ran fine for about 3 weeks and one day i was riding it and it started backfiring and sputtering and would only go about 5 mph. I had a air leak in one of my boots so i replaced them and it still does it. Both plugs were oil fouled so i replaced them and the new ones even had oil on them. I was running 20:1 the whole time. Does anyone have any advice? Should i run a different gas mixture? I have t5's, vforce reeds, ported cylinders, dyna ignition, aftermarket carbs. I am running 93 octane. NEED HELP Quote
1.6i Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 (edited) have you checked your compression? why 20:1? i run 32:1 never had a problem with a fouled plug.. Edited August 2, 2006 by 1.6i Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 yea 20:1 is really rich in oil you should be at 28:1 - 32:1 Quote
Samdogmx Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 yeah I'd try running 32.1 & get some new plugs Quote
TeamBigginRacing Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 32:1..^^^^^^what kind of oil mix r u running? Quote
csrmel Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 nothing wrong with 20:1 if youre jetted properly. 20:1 and 25:1 is the factory spec, afterall guys. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I agree...too much oil. I think the manufacturer keeps it rich to be safe. Too rich for my taste... What is your jetting currently at with your mods, and what kind/size/type of carbs? Quote
MYquadsFaster Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 i run about 40.1 yamalube in my banshee and my plugs still look oily........02. Quote
