I finally got the bike out to the track. I ran a 13.3 at 95 mph. What kind of times are you guys running with what kinds of setups? I just wanna see how much more work i have to do.

My stock cylinder(F.A.S.T.drag port/80 over),stock stroke has run a 7.38.It should be going into the 6's pretty easily I think. That's if I take it back to the track. That is in the 1/8th.

4 mill stroker port and polished, lockup clutch, cpi inframe, 33 mm carbs, coolhead 18cc domes, running vp 112. I run a 17 tooth front sprocket and i think a 41 in the rear. I just checked my time sheet and i ran low 8's in the 1/8, but thats with a 17 front sprocket. It should be low 7's with the right setup.

You should run better than that...I'm running a stock stroke, stock cylinder drag ported 350 and weigh almost 300 lbs and turning upper 7's in the 1/8th. My 150 lb friend got a 7.52 on my bike, and could easily break into the 7.4's, maybe 7.3's with better launches. Not saying your times are bad, you just definitely have room for improvement. I noticed the biggest difference when I changed the gearing.

I know you said it was an 1/8th mile track but the length can be different depending on where you go. My track is 660 ft, where some 1/8th miles are only 600 ft. That 60 ft will make a noticeable difference in your time. I think the track race-a-holic was at is 600 ft, it seemed shorter than my local track

i went to beaver springs dragway here in pa a couple weeks ago.its an ihra 1/4 mile track and it rained before we got there and the track was still damp.i got to make one pass before the rain came again and they had to cancel.it was the very first time i ran on an asphalt track and with it being damp the tires were breaking loose almost the whole eigth mile .when i got to the eigth mile light i was topped out so i squeezed clutch and let it coast thru the 1/4.i had a 1.6 60ft time ,7 sec 1/8 at 93 mph and a 13 sec 1/4 mile et.i was running mc creary speed stars on the rear with a 16-38 gearing with a 1-5 overide and no 6th gear.should of changed the gearing before we went but we were curious and now we got an idea of what gearing we need.i'm goin back very soon ,this time i got a set of hoosiers and geared for it.i'm pretty sure i can get very low 6 sec et in the 1/8 and real close 11 sec et in quarter.that 1 time on asphalt track and i'm hooked, lol

Here is our set-up 7mm, stock cylinders (ported), alky, 17/40 sprockets, 2.68 straight cuts, plus 8" arm, stock frame and built to NHRA's strict rules. We have run a best of 10.91 in the 1/4 @113 MPH. 1/8 mile times are 6.50-6.60 @ 96-97 MPH with the 1/4 mile gearing. The clutch is the key to great times, but my mouth is shut on that subject. We are in the process of switching to the cub cylinders.

I was running the 1/4 mile but you still get times for the 1/8 on the time slip. I know i can run better but i think those are good times for my first asphalt drag.

I agree!!! You're lucky you have a 1/4 mile track that will let you run, only tracks around here that cooperate with quads are 1/8 mile.

I ran one 1/4 mile pass on our most recent setup and ran a 12.27 at 95 mph with a 7.37 @ 88 mph in the 1/8. This was the one and only pass and was launching easy and letting out of the gas to shift. The next weekend I went to a different 1/8 mi track and ran a 7.28 at 89 mph speed shifting with a half throttle launch (to hook).

350 on gas, stock frame, no override, inframes, no slicks and on a +4 over with no bar.

Tommorow were supposed to run the 1/8 with a new port setup, a +8 swinger and drag axle, and possibly some slicks and wheelie bar. Hope to get pretty deep in the sixes.
