2stroker4ever Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 (edited) I'm about to put in an order at Magic racing, and am thinking about gettin a K & N filter with it. Anyway, I already have no air box lid, and I cant run pods because I go through water once and a while, and dont want to risk it. So anyway, my question is this, will I need any special kind of adapter to fasten this filter in?? http://www.magicracing.com/KN-Filter--Banshee_p_170-454.html Also, do you think I'll need to rejet because of it?? How much of a gain will I see from switching from stock air filter to this one w/ an outerwears? I have FMF Fatty's also, if that makes a difference. Right now I'm running a 280main. EDIT: I'm also at about 950-1000ft elevation, here in SW Michigan, if that helps. Edited July 18, 2006 by 2stroker4ever Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 Not trying to insult you, but, if you're already running without a lid and you don't have a ProFlow adapter you're already doing it wrong. The airbox lid is required to properly retain the stock filter element base. So either you must already have a ProFlow adapter, or you should be ordering one with that filter. Yes, I would get that if you are going to stick with an airbox. For one it WILL outflow the stock filter, and it will filter the junk out better. You should be able to find a ProFlow on Magic. Never looked at their site before, but can't imagine they wouldn't sell one. Quote
2stroker4ever Posted July 18, 2006 Author Report Posted July 18, 2006 Well, I suppose Techically, I DO have a airbox lid... but it's completely got the top cut out.. It's just the boarder of it more or less, just enough left to clamp it on, and use it to hold the stock filter in, like you said. Quote
