i am currently rebuilding my banshee and i started with a brand new frame from yamaha and i had the stock swing arm powder coated. tonight i went to install the swingarm with a brand new pivot works swing arm bearing kit, i noticed that as i tightened the pivot shaft rod bolt the swing arm became very hard to rotate up and down by hand(this is with no shock or linkage connected). the clymers book said to tighten it to 70ftlbs. at 60ftlbs it became very very hard to rotate, or is it supposed to be really hard to rotate. should i sand some of the powder coat off the ends or do you guys think it will loosen up when i start to ride it again. -Kyle

As long as you have all you're spacers in the right place and greased everything during assembly you should be all right. You may want to back off on the bolt nut just till the arm moves freely. If it's too tight the dust covers might take a hit.
