IROOST1 Posted July 10, 2006 Report Posted July 10, 2006 I've Had Glasses all my life since I was 4 and refuse to not wear them. Otherwise I run into stuff. They aren't a problem at all. Except the last time I went down on my yz250 and my glasses smashed up into my helmet and the metal that holds the nosepieces slashed my forehead all the way up. I bet no one has had that happen. tithead Posted July 11, 2006 Author Report Posted July 11, 2006 the main problem i have with the glasses is them jittering about in my goggles when im jumping or on rough terrain. the bits that hold your glasses on my nose have broken quite a few times. and yes it does hurt when the little metal bits scratch your head and over your nose! im in town tomorrow so ill look into contacts. Animalman294 Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Ya, I know it really sucks to wear glasses, but contacts are not too terribly bad. I don't have that bad of sight, so I rarely even wear glasses. When I do though it's only to watch something far away that I want to see clearly. I tried wearin' contacts at sand mountain a couple of times, and it wasn't to bad. By the end of the day my eyes were a little sore, but tolerable. I stopped wearin' glasses years ago, and when I went into the optometrist my eyes actaully got better. The doctor said that the muscles may have gotten stronger because I forced them to see without correction. I feel your pain for those of you who wear glasses. You just need to watch out for your buddies sick jokes when you are partyin' with them and have a few to many. "Come on Larry, you can jump that. No, No, it just looks like the Grand Canyon." Here, have another couple-a beers, then you can try it." :yelrotflmao: Quote

98bonerSTOCKshee Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 had mine for 3 years now ,always had to take them off wo put goggles on.. I don't' really need them to see just read signs and see the girlies at a distance... They just tend to sharpen my sight up... I ordered a pair of goggle through my distributor that fits over my glasses, but I still take them off while riding.. I just feel that if I crash or sumfin that I might loose them.. Now my buddy is blind as a bat he wears his all the time.. Even uses regular Scott goggles that don't fit over them very well, shit looks uncomfortable to me... My goggles fit perfect over the glasses... later, Chad Quote

MILO Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 (edited) i've worn glasses since i was about 11, i'll be 32 next month. been wearing contacs too since i was about 15. i think glasses suck when riding. even if you have the otg goggles. it's not too bad just pokin around the yard, but not good on the trails and so on. mine always bounce around too much and it looks like the whole world is in one big earthquake. besides that, my eyes actually water more with my glasses on, from the way the wind whips around them when riding fast, then i can't hardly see anyway. especially if i take off up the road or across and open field on the shee, or on my cbr without my helmet visor down. i always wear my contacs when riding, and usually wear goggles. really dusty conditions can get to them when you don't wear goggles, and mud in the eyes is 10x worse with contacs in. but i'd ride with contacs and goggles on rather than glasses anyday. by the way, it would be suicide for me to ride without either :baseball_bat: Edited July 12, 2006 by MILO Quote
