ellison445 Posted July 11, 2006 Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 Yes it will, a fucked up spark plug will cause backfire which triggers the check engine light to come on. i cleared the code, drove it 70 miles, and just took it to inspection yesterday. It passed Light didnt come back yet so i dont know what it was, all i did was change the spark plugs but that wouldnt cause the error code as far as i know. slowpokebanshee Posted July 18, 2006 Report Share Posted July 18, 2006 I doubt it would cause a back fire with bad plugs, mis-fire yes, backfire, doubtful, and in this day and age of platinum, double platinum, triple platinum, iridium, etc. plugs.....I doubt that was a problem also, plug wires/ignition cables injector etc. would also cause a misfire but that would set a p0300 (p0301,p0302,p0303,p0304,...p0312etc.) we are addressing a low voltage o2 sensor code if I am not mistaken, why did we change plugs? I changed the plugs becasue it was about time they should be changed, they have been on there for about 50,000 miles and i figured i would just do them now. The old plugs were all white on the tips with some spots of bring yellow on some. Whats this mean? I know on a banshee its not good!
