peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 (edited) I've been riding a rapto 660 for 2 years now and im hearing a lot of good things and bad things about the banshee. I'm the market for a new quad and im looking at the rapto 700 or the banshee. Which one is the best way to go? And i hear banshees are a lot of work.. are they hard to maintain.? One more thing, do they have a greater top speed than a raptor? Edited July 1, 2006 by peafive Quote
korndawg Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 It all depends on what kind of riding you plan on doing. If you want to do a bunch of riding on tight trails, I would go with the raptor 700. If you plan on riding dunes, or anyplace you can really open it up, I'd go with a banshee. As far as maintaining them, banshees really aren't that bad. As long as you don't abuse them too bad, they really aren't bad to maintain at all. Quote
peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 so i take it taht a banshee will beat a raptor in a drag? waht about pits? are banshees good there? Quote
korndawg Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 stock vs stock, assuming equal rider skill, I would assume that the raptor is probably going to out run the banshee. Dump $1000-$1500 into each one though, and it's a different story. Quote
helldriver Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 banshes rule in the sand pits banshees casn be ridden anywhere,, a raptor 700 is just a, little easrier to ride in the woods but a banshee with just pipes and filter, will out power it anyday in the sand pits Quote
peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 Assuming i get a banshee, what would be the best thing to put on it first? Quote
fastashell Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 get some new pipes first. also i ride trails and my banshee rips them up. the banshee is an all around great quad. get it youll love it Quote
peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 What kind of pipes should i get? and should i get nerf bares and what type? Quote
decon Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 What kind of pipes should i get? and should i get nerf bares and what type? Get pipes that suit your riding style. So question is what type of riding do you do? Quote
EastCoast Banshee Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Dont worry about nerf bars right now there are alot better things you could get. Id say get pipes and an airfilter at the same time. I personally am going to do all my suspension work befor i drop more money into my motor. No use if you cant controll it. Quote
peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 Get pipes that suit your riding style. So question is what type of riding do you do? I ride in homemade trails (i'm not that bad at making trails, takes a while though) and i have a 50 acre pit in my back yard. So i ride trails and pits Quote

So i ride trails and pits I would get some T5's for that, they have good topend and still maintain a strong bottom and midrange. Quote
peafive Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 (edited) are they tight trails? open trails? both And do you guys know if the banshee would get better fuel milage than the raptor? Edited July 1, 2006 by peafive Quote
korndawg Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 Fuel mileage will probably be worse on the banshee (2 strokes tend to drink the fuel). As far as what pipes to go with, some T-5 or T-6's would probably do really well for you, or a set of the Paul Turner mids. Quote
