platinumjason Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 So talked to my builder today about my right cylinder that leaned out and burned the electrode off my plug and dropped it on my piston and he replies, "spark plug malfunction, thats nothing I did". So being I've never heard of this I ask you guys. I have a couple pics posted below, please tell me if you've heard of this at all or your input on why this would have happend. I told him I thought that there was either a air leak or something he did wrong when he synced the carbs and he said its impossible and its a spark plug malfunction. Quote
MILO Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 well bud, in my experience, spark plugs don't just 'malfunction'. there has to be other problems at hand to cause damage to a spark plug. i think he's full of shit. my first guess would be an air leak also. Quote
platinumjason Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 Yup thats what I said and he said impossible, I replaced the reed gaskets and the air fillters were tight. Im real pissed about the whole thing. I did 3 heat cycles, and 2 gentle rides through the yard and 5 minutes of so so hard duning, no reason it should have blown, nor have I or anyone I know heard of this mysterious plug malfunction. I can however list plenty of times where Ive seen it happen to leaning out. He offered to tear it down and find out what needs to be replaced for free. Considering I just spent a month waiting time and $470 on labor only to do this stuff to my shee, I included everything he needed. Guess I'll have to settle it in court. Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Get all your ducks in a row.Ask your builder how long it held pressure when he did the engine presure test,I bet he didn't even do one. Quote
