qwerty Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 It is a white 2001 Banshee with cut front fenders. From the pictures it looks perfect. Here are the mods it has...DG full exhaust, Moose Racing billet carb caps, Boost bottle, polished grab bar, aftermarket aluminum bars and 660 raptor tires. It can be had for 2500 cash. I have alot of questions, so if somebody could help me i would really appreciate it. So here goes the list.. What to look for, and how can I tell if the motor is strong or not (never fooled with 2 strokes) How many kicks should it take to get it cranked? Is this a good price, meaning can I drive it for 6 months and re sell it for 2500? And now some more general questions to help me out since I have never rode a Banshee..(had a raptor 660) I heard that stock they handle terribly, how bad is it, and how would yfz shock and plus 2 arms, axle help? Its going to be trail ridden, how hard is the 2 stroke to keep running in the woods? With those mods it has on it, how much slower is it going to be with a raptor 700 with dual exhaust and goods. (dont be biased please Quote
Bansh88 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 1. The only mod you listed that matters are the pipes. Which arent that great. All that other stuff is garbage and shouldn't be in the equation. 2. Don't worry about it keeping up or beating any other bike. All that depends a lot on the rider. 3. Either deal with the less than modern suspension or look into a bike with better supspension. Afetrmarket Banshee or newer 450. Stock suspension is fine. 4. Banshees prefer open terrain. Trails? Guys on here will give you the goods on that. My experience is that they suck. So do trails for that matter. thank God I have Glamis! 5. Being an '01, it should NOT be on a stock top end. My '02 is just about due for a replacement. 2500 seems pretty cheap. Might be a great deal. But for a bit more, you can find a newer, better Banshee. Quote
BansheeCJ3 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 well I can tell you one thing...Look where the case is right above the chain and see if theres a chunk out of it. It's very common with Banshee's. Definitely get some +2 A-Arms and some good suspension, and an extended axle. $2,500 is a good deal. Good luck...hope you get it. Quote
Animalman294 Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 Thats not bad for an 01', and even with a little work you'll have decent runnin' shee. then when you get a little more money you can re-do the top end and go through the motor. Welcome to the real sport quad world, real quads have reeds............. :yelrotflmao: Quote
