super Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 (edited) hey guys lets see if you can help me,im stumped! i recently split my case open to fix my tranny. the problem was this, When i was in 2nd gear it would clunck and pull really eraticlly when i was on the throttle like the gears were broke and some were mabey missing. 1st,3rd,4th,5th,6th all work just fine!! anyway theres nothing that really looks bad looking once i got it apart, yeah some bearing are a little worn but nothing is broke, whats goin on, Thanks Edited June 28, 2006 by super Quote
r/atvshee Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 sounds like something similar to what happened to me....it would start to clunk in 3rd on mine, becuase i had bought a new chain and didnt know it would be best to replace the rear sprocket. I looked at mine and it was basically worn down to were its not usable anymore, and i also thought it was the tranny. If you recently replaced you chain, try a replacing your rear sprocket. hope this helps. :baseball_original: Quote

it's stolen Posted June 28, 2006 Report Posted June 28, 2006 did you check where the shift fork rides in the shift drum. 1/16 of an inch of wear can cause what you are discribing. my brothers kawi did the samething. a shift drum and fork fixed it like new. Quote
