Thoughtshewas18 Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Well I put in my new pistons and got a .02 bore done and a new noss machine head a while back (couple months). Today I went to put on these rubber rings that go inbetween the bottom and top of the head around the studs to keep coolant from leaking cause that was happening even though it ran great. So I put it all back together and everything was right. I filled the coolant back up and I went to start it and it took like 30 kicks then finally it started up and just pours smoke out the pipes and revs higher and higher out of nowhere. When I hit the gas a little it just tried to bog. The engine dies after like 15 seconds and im not sure what the problem is. Should i just take it all apart again and check something? Quote
dlnoss Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 The smoke could be a dome oring messed up. Was it white smoke smelling like coolant? Is the coolant low after running like that? Quote

Is the coolant low after running like that? Hey david! The smell was a little different and it looked a little bluish. I asked a friend of mine thats pretty mechanical and he said there must have been a coolant leak or something inside the head and I think maybe one of the rings might have not been placed well (my fault) but im not sure. I ordered a new set from you and got a new gasket set on the way from wiseco and I think I might as well try with putting those in place again. Im sure it was a seal problem... Otherwise im clueless haha. I took the head off again and the jugs and pistons look great so who knows. Quote
