I just bought Dynojet kit off ebay which was suppose to be stage 1-2. It ended up arriving and is a stage 3 kit. I only have a k&n and the snorkel off and was wondering if I could up the jet size to 270 by removing the airbox lid also? The stage 3 kit comes with 270's,280,340's. Will I need to get the stage 1-2 kit or can I settle with using the stage 3? By the way the elevation is 541 m and the temperature is between 60-80 degrees.

...Excuse the title.

do you have pipes or any other mods

Nope I just bought the thing and thru a K&N on and took off the snorkel? SHould I be able to get away with the 270 if I take the airbox lid off?

So I shouldn't need the stage 2 kit with the smaller jets?

No, you should be ok with what you have. You will want the bigger jets the stage 3 has if you plan on getting pipes and replacing your airbox with filter pods such as K&N.

Stock pipes, stock airbox and stock lid...without the snorkel and JUST a filter...270 will probably be too rich as well, but it will be more than safe.

Honestly...so you know, jet kits are normally a waste of time...they advertise Stage this, Stage that...

You could've went to the local dealer and got a few jets for 3 or 4 bucks a piece...

You'll probably need about 230 mains or 240s.

270 or 280 would be what you run with the K&N and a set of aftermarket pipes...

I just did the math...540 Meters is about 1700 feet...even less jet needed.

Yeap, I agree. I think those dynojet kits are complete and utter bullshit. :banghead:

85 bucks for 2 fuckin' needles and some 2 dollar jets.

Try the 270's and do a plug test, this is of course with the lid off.

You may be rich. From my experience with those stupid kits, the needles

have more of a taper to them and run richer than the stockers. So

you may need some smaller jets with those needles unless you put some

better pipes on there.

Dont know that you will see much of a performance gain with the stock

pipes on though.

Yep...exactly.

The stock needles to have a lean spot in the middle...hence the longer more tapered needles...they do richen it up.

Toomey uses Dynojet needles...and Vito's needles are similar.
