94BANSHEE Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 hi i have a shee with toomey T5's and a fresh bore with 0.30 pistons. that is basically all of the mods on it. the motor is pretty much stock. now BEFORE and AFTER the bore and new pistons, i notice its really hard to start after its warmed up. like today for example. i started it first kick. its starts great when cold or not running for a while. i drove it around at various speeds for 10-15 minutes. now it wont start, even with 10 kicks!! what could it be? i have new plugs in it too, but they are probably soaked with gas/oil mix right now any thoughts? racer Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 check ur compression. mine used to do that when i needed a new topend. i realize you just got one, but not every one is a prodigy with a boring bar. Quote
sheefreak Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 I have had a failing coil act like that also. I know it worked fine before, but stranger things have happened. Quote
94BANSHEE Posted June 14, 2006 Author Report Posted June 14, 2006 by failing coil, do you mean the CDI box OR the iginition coil where the plug wires go on OR the stator? i think my friends did that a while back but it was the CDI Quote
94BANSHEE Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 probly an electrical problem i cant see it though. why would gears 4 5 and 6 run smooth?? each gear has to run thru the same rpms correct? Quote
Justintoxicated Posted June 15, 2006 Report Posted June 15, 2006 It really could be just jetted to wrong, what size pilot are you running? Have you messed with the air screw? Check the plugs and let use know what they look like. Quote
