Do whatever you need to get out of the hole in 2nd gear. Im still having that problem because when I run 14T on front and 41T on back (stock ratio) I have to launch out of the hole in 1st gear. Im late getting out of the hole but my top end is unreal so I pull on most every bike at about mid track. I tried a 13T front and i could get out of the hole in 2nd no problem but if someone gets me out of the hole then I couldnt pull them on the top and I would loose more.

.....unless your not even drag racing....then a 13T will just make your shee a little zippy on the dunes and trails.

15 front..... and a 45 rear for like trail riding/asphalt......and a 46 rear if you ride in the sand

I like a 15 also but i run a 41 on back.Bump your compression up to 170 or 180 that will help get you out of the hole wiyh taller gears.

im about to put on a 15t front. im still running the stock rear. i ride mainly sand, trails, some asphalt.

i find myself shifting too often. first is almost useless right now. its too slow for anything but driving up the ramps into the truck bed.

dude if you're running a 15-41 and you find that too low geared?? are you running a 10mm T-Rex or what J/K!.......that gearing is equivalent to 14-38 or a 13-35 or the other way a 16-44.....which all these applications, for sand anyways, are very high geared......if you ride in sand with that gearing you're at, there's absolutly NO WAY you will be able to take off in 2nd.....Or maybe I misunderstood your meaning....hope this helps!

Ithink he was refering to his stock 14 gear and is now putting on a 15 to help.
