cbn70 Posted June 10, 2006 Report Posted June 10, 2006 I just bought a 2000 banshee with gnarly pipes. It also has ignition advanced 4 degrees and a k&n filter. This thing pulls like crazy on the bottom, but is flat on the top. Does not pull on the top like the other banshees I have owned over the years with the regular fmf fatties and toomey pipes. I have had the carbs apart and done numerous jetting runs and the jetting is good. Is this the nature of these pipes? Quote

I'll take a shot, more like a guess  maybe with the ignition advanced +4 and those pipes it gives you more bottom then some, but you lose top just because of that setup? gl :thumb: Quote
cbn70 Posted June 11, 2006 Author Report Posted June 11, 2006 that is kinda what I was thinking, but have never used this setup before. The guy I bought it from said he set it up for trail riding. It will work good for that, but don't think it will be that good for when I take it to the dunes. Might need to put a set of different pipes on it. Quote
Dead Op Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 gnarlys are all bottom end pipes, thats why their top end is pretty much like stock. Quote
Pa Banshee Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I had gnralys on my banshee with +4 timiing and was right like your describing. Pulls real hard on the bottom but has a real flat topend. Quote
Gargamel Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 I wouldn't describe it as flat on top, more like not as good as a top end pipe. I had those pipes and loved it for trail and dune. But then again I rode 99% trails and 1% dunes  It's a low end pipe, it is what it is  Quote
cbn70 Posted June 12, 2006 Author Report Posted June 12, 2006 thanks for the reply's. I think that I will like these pipes for the trail riding, but have some others to try for dune riding, and other types of riding. I have T-3's, T-5's and a set of paul turner midrange as well. Quote
