Wow, imagine that, a criminal running from the police might get hurt

I understand what you mean, and it sucks when the only areas to ride are illegal, but thats the law. Too many landowners have been sued from idiots that hurt themselves and try to blame it on someone else. Durhamtown Plantation anybody? Some kid that hadn't ever hit a MX jump decided he could hit a freestyle ramp. I've seen that landing to that ramp, and that pile of dirt is 20 ft high (think how how that ramp would throw you). Kid kills himself, and yet the parents say its not his fault or theirs, its Durhamtowns. Someone that had signed a waiver, still sued, still cost that place a ton of money, and nearly got it shut down.

Now think about what the company whose property you're riding on is thinking. They don't want to be held liable.

Break the law if you must, but I won't feel sorry if some overzealous cop runs you over.

(Man if me 10 years ago read this, I would hit myself)

Ya, all the riding areas are slowly getting closed down, and then they bitch because people ride illegally. I mean the damn indians (Washoe I think) are tryin' to take their sacred land back (Sand Mountain, NV), because the white man is desicrating their sacred land by ridin' their "screamin' Banshee war machines" all over the sand. Let alone the next day the wind knocked down the tracks and now you can't tell there was ever anyone there. They are backin' the environmentalists because they are tryin' to close our ridin' areas, which helps the Indians get to their goal "Sole Possession"

Bull$hit, they want the land back so they can charge us the same rates the BLM rangers are chargin' and then build a huge a$$ casino at the entrance to the Mountain so they can recover what the "Man" has stollen from them over the years. It's all a ploy they are a business just like everything else. I mean look at California Indian Casino's and the amount of taxes they pay compared to the amount other businesses in the state have to pay, and their profit margins. they are makin' money hand over fist, but yet if you are not an Indian on Indian land you can't have a casino's in the state.

is that place like a big race track or something? never heard about that. Sounds like to me that kid was an idiot with no good judgement or common sense :shoothead: . here lately theres been a few stories about kids getin killed on atvs. and I think almost every one of em said that the kid was hit by a car when they pulled out onto the road without lookin. I know these are sad storys an all, but If you ask me its their fault for not slowing down and looking for traffic. and even riding on the streets/roads is still not a smart thing to do, but everyone does it at one time or another. I try to stay off the roads as much as possible, enless I have to

Miles upon miles of trails, 5 tracks (2 kids tracks). To say the least its an awesome place to ride. The average weekend day is probably close to 1000 people.

No, I don't have any problem with Indians owning things or anything else. I just feel that if I have to work hard for what I have that they should damn well do the same thing. They just want BLM to hand back over the land, which is a bunch of crap. They claim it is a sacred place, but yet for years before ATV's started going out there we never heard a damn word from them. Then all of a sudden they see dollar signs and want the land for themselves istead of leaving it with BLM and letting everyone enjoy it.

They went up on Arnie's Hill and removed all the plaques that were placed there for people who died on the mountain. Since it is a sacred place why can't the plaques be left there as a memorial to those that died there. Oh ya, BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T INDIANS................
