Since I got a new video cam this year I want to be able edit some videos for posting or whatever. I know that there are several of you on here that seem to know how to do this stuff pretty good. Curious what I need to do or what programs you guys all recomend. I want something somewhat easy to use, as Iam not that great with comp. Iam also not needing anything to crazy, just want to do some simple stuff. Thanks

I took 4 years in a course at the local college for video design... First things first you need a bad ass pc... MORE RAM = LESS STRESS

alot of pc video editing programs use alot of ram or system resouces to run / render videos.

Adobe premier is a very very good program to use , you can get off limewire or any other illegal software downloading website . Once you get the hang of it the creative'ness will take off and you will be making cool videos in no time.

Reccomended : adobe premier

my editer : 3.9g overclocked to 4.20g, 2.5gb ram

good 3d card : 256 ddr3 x 2 ( sli )

dual monitor output is always great for big time line editing , i run 3 monitors and a seperate tv with vcr ( for recording out ) .... What it all comes down to is the pc , the longer you edit the more resources the actual project will take up. If you got a few questions or need help with editing shoot me a pm. I will show you what i know

Adobe Premier sucks ass unless you like complicated programs, I'm a simple person and the program is over my head. Sorry I hate Adobe, the programs are not user friendly IMO.

Windows movie maker does the job just fine and is super easy to use. I bought the Adobe Premier program and wasted money cause I hate to use it. There went $250 out the window banghead , if anyone likes the program I'll give you a good deal :D

You should have no problems figuring out windows movie maker, it's simple

I used adobe premier for a couple years in hs, then i got vegas video 5.0. it took a while to get used to the different functions/controls, but from a beginners perspective, i would probably say vegas is easier to use, not to mention, if you actually buy it, it comes with a dvd architect, so you can lay out your own dvds. my ex got it for me about two years ago, and i still use it all the time. the only problem i have is, every year i add more to my banshee, thus making the last years footage damn near worthless haha btw, what kind of camera did you go with?

I use pinnacle studio 9. Its pretty cool except if you want some of the extras they try to get you buy the extra transitions and crap. But in reality you wont need more than what came with it. My only bitch it can be a little glitchy. but worth 100$. good luck with movie maker, i havent used it.
