JasonR Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 I've owned several banshees, and have always had toomey pipes, jet kit, and silencers. I also noticed FMF sells the same stuff... What's the best kit to go with? I'm not planning to heavily mod my bike, maybe a jet kit, exhaust, silencers, and an extended swing arm (slightly). Quote

odaen Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 For stock bikes (bolt-ons only), the FMF's, Pro Circuits, and Toomey's are all within a gnat's ass of each other. Toomey's are the preferred pipe though among the masses, myself included. The work well on a wide gamut of motors from stock, to after market cub cylinders. I don't hear of too many people stuffing pro circuits or fmf gnarly's on that type of motor very often. Quote

I for sure wouldn't go with more than a +4 swingarm with your mods. Once you go more than that you really start to comprimise handling. Quote

What about shocks? Which air filter? Is there a nice twist throttle kit (my thumb throttle is stiff as hell!). And I also need front sand tires, and maybe some new foot rests....and I need to cut the fenders...haha. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 12, 2006 Report Posted May 12, 2006 (edited) When Toomey's jet kit was on clearance at Magic Racing for 29.99 it was a steal. Not because of the mains in it...because of the needle. The stock needle is not great, really. The mid causes a lean condition... Toomey needles, or even Vito's needles remove this mid-lean condition... With those mods, I'd go +2 or +4...at the very most. Side riding? get a blaster or 400EX for that crap...those short wheelbases love to bicycle.... Anyone on here will agree...NO ONE here can tell you your exact jetting. We all can get you close...every bike is different. If you only want to do it once, and get it right...get to a dyno with an air fuel meter. Then...keep in mind, once the temperature increases or dips 20 to 30 degrees...time to rejet again. Edited May 12, 2006 by dajogejr Quote

Do a search and Toomey T6 and you will find a ton of info and why I think they are the best, especially if you do not plan on doing any major engine mods.
