mollett89 Posted June 5, 2006 Author Report Posted June 5, 2006 well now my brights dont work tail light still does so that would mean its not my regulator right any help would be greatly apprieceted Quote
fastcar01 Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 Well is your tail light the correct brightness? If it is the frist thing I would check is the headlight switch. I have had this go bad one of my sleds. You will want to first verify power is getting to the switch, check that. I am not sure how the switch ties in there, but it should be pretty easy to check. After that you will have to check all the wiring. I don;t think it is too likely, but you can check the bulb sockets for corrosion, but this would most likely only affect one light, not both. I guess go ahead and check your stator ohms also. Doubtful, but check it, could have a weak lighting coil. I can't think of anything else it would be. When you give it gas, does the tail light really vary in brightness, if it is excessive, I wouldn't rule out that regulator. My first guess is a broke wire, following by a bad switch, check those things first. Quote
ssanddemon Posted June 5, 2006 Report Posted June 5, 2006 I'm guessing the regulator took a crap or got unplugged (blue wire to the little silver box behind the coolant bottle) and is burning up the bulbs. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted June 6, 2006 Report Posted June 6, 2006 sounds like blown bulbs, but if you think its because it is your voltage regulator you will need a DMM to diagnose it. Quote
mollett89 Posted June 6, 2006 Author Report Posted June 6, 2006 well the headligt bulbs are blown the tail is not and when i rev it doesnt dim and get bright so would that mean its a short or somthing in the wiring or would that be the regulator and where can i get one of these regulators and how much do they cost Quote
