Hey guys, not sure where to go on gears with my current mods? right now im at 15-41 and the locals are telling me im all wrong! Its faster than everything else around, but I was told with some gearing that it could be much more? any suggestions? or are the slow guys just blowing smoke up my ass? thanks, Ryan

big motors can pull big gearing ! small motors pull NEAR STOCK gearing ......

 

 

if ure not ported i wouldnt change with gearing much maybe up 1 tooth infront ? .....

 

porting can change alot on power , so its really hard to say with the information you given....

 

 

To put into perspective a stock geared bike is 14/40 ???? &

( my bike )10 mill can pull a 17/38 nicely in the qtr

 

The rule of thumb is BIGGER GEARING in the front = more speed

Smaller in the rear = more speed ..... Also the smallest sprocket you can put in the rear from my knowledge is a 38 tooth before you have to buy billet aftermarket HONDA sprocket style hubs which can get costly .

whats all done to your bike? i had pipes a coolhead vforce reeds and i was pulling 16/41 gearing but i went back down to a 15 so i could take off in second in drag races. i say stay with what you at for trails and hills. I now run the 16/41 gearing but have a 4mil cub decked out to pull it with.
