AllMotor347 Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 Hey Everyone, Im having trouble decideing what im gonna do to my motor this summer, Ive Been Talking to jim at passion about building a 12 Port 4mm stroker, but ive been thinking about going for an unported cub motor with a 4mm stroker crank, I was just wondering what kind of power difference i would have thanks for any help you can give me Quote
sheefreak Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 prolly 15 to 20 horse difference w/cleanup port on cub. Ask Jim, he sells the Cubs also I believe. Quote

odaen Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 2 completely different setups. really just depends what kind of power you want and your budget. Quote
AllMotor347 Posted May 2, 2006 Author Report Posted May 2, 2006 thanks for the input guys, odaen how do you like your shearers, that pic in you sig looks nasty Quote
odaen Posted May 2, 2006 Report Posted May 2, 2006 they definitely keep me on my toes. the shearers work very well with the cub motors. Quote
AllMotor347 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 Heres one of the things ive been thinkin about, the 12 port storker costs: 1215 ive seen cub cylinders with crank and pistons for as low as 1350 if i sell my stock cylinders id probably save money with the cubs Quote
wesw Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 here is the best way to explain them the 12 ports have very broad power. the cubs are more blah and a bomb on the power band. the main difference i felt was the 12 port would pull more off idle to the pipe. while the cubs dont really pull as well to the pipe but when they hit you better be ready. it totally depends on your riding style. trails, dunes, and dicking off i would say go with the stockers for dunes, dragging, and basically topend stuff, go with the cubs. i will agree with loco the cubs arent trail friendly. they could be but just dont work as well. hope that clears some stuff up. i will say both work well, its just as to what you want to do. if you want to play around and drag and what not, stockers. jim should discuss stuff with you if you call him about what you are looking to do.
