FireHead Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I purchased a throw out bearing (pancake bearing) for my bike and just got around to trying to install it. There seems to be extra space between the clutch hat and washer face that goes in front of the bearing. This gives the assembly about .125 inch of play. IS this normal? Should there be a thicker washer than the oune provided in front of the bearing? Am I missing something obvious? Quote
Tim C Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Thats the way mine was......It floats on there and when it's all installed the spring on the clutch arm/cam pushes the rod and ball against it so there is tension on it. Quote
FireHead Posted April 30, 2006 Author Report Posted April 30, 2006 Ok, thats good. My other bike had the bearing in there when I bought it and I did not remember it being that way. I shall wite this off to retardation and throw my clutch back together. Thanks. Quote
