s10ondubz Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 i have a 2000 banshee jjust put on fmf gold series and power core 2 silencers tried to jet it today put in a 270 main jet and the needle is on the 4th clip the bike wil not idle and is hard to rev have to pour gas n carb to get started but you can keep it running once you get it started but is kinda sluggish at low rpms high rpms seems ok i'm new to the banshee thing and eager to learn the jet kit is a dynojet with 270 and 280 jets stage 3 also have reed spacers someone please help Quote
banshdog Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 Does the bike have TORS on it? either way, the idle can be adjusted. a larger pilot jet may also help your cause. Quote
dajogejr Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 FMF pipes like a fatter pilot. Change your stock 25 pilot to a 27.5, the next size larger. Turn your airscrews 1.5 turns out from the lightly seated position. That should get you close. Then...you can use the old choke trick. Once the bike is fully warmed up...pull the choke out half way...if it runs better off the bottom, you need to turn your air screws in. If it runs worse, turn the air screws out. Remember to make sure it's warmed up...and allow a good 20 seconds after turning the air screws out to let the adjustment "take effect". Turn them in or out 1/4 turn at a time till it's right... Needles should be in the middle clip. Quote
sheefreak Posted April 13, 2006 Report Posted April 13, 2006 I ended up w/my needle in the 4th clip w/fattys, ran best for me there. I agree w/the pilot and airscrews. How is your airbox setup? Quote
s10ondubz Posted April 14, 2006 Author Report Posted April 14, 2006 right now the airbox is stock with the snorkel removed, stock filter, the needles in the jet kit are longer than the stock needles is that right someone told me to switch back to the stock needles so i did and no change you have to pour gas into the carbs to get it to crank and then you have to keep it running it will not idle and once it dies you can kick all you want but unless you pour gas in the carbs it will not crank it is driving me nuts Quote
s10ondubz Posted April 14, 2006 Author Report Posted April 14, 2006 now this thing is really getting on my nerves i put the stock jets and needles back in and the back is still doin the same thing what did i do to cause this i also unhooked the tors today thinking that maybe had something to do with it but no luck Quote
