Slayer1018 Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I just want to know just how much the pre-filter on my TOOMEY 2:1 foam filter will protect it from water... I rode in a little snow yesterday and also washed my BANSHEE. Is this alright? Your input appreciated... Quote
Hilarious Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I'd say, maybe a couple of drops or so would be ok. If you get it totally saturated you'd be in trouble. Quote
Slayer1018 Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 So how do you wash it w/out getting any water on it? Should I avoid all wet conditions? ie.. Rain? Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I agree with Hilarious...they are water repellant, but not resistant. Are you running an airbox or are the air filters clamped on the carbs? Quote
Hilarious Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Now look, you are talking about the outerwear, right? That is what I assumed. Just take it off the filter and wash with soap and water let it dry and re-install it on your filter. Inspect your filter and see if it needs cleaning, in the process. Your outerwear will prolong cleaning your air filter and protect it from a minute amount of water. I wouldnt go riding through puddles and creeks. Put a ziplock bag over your filter when you wash your bike. Quote
Slayer1018 Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 Got it! Thanks! ..no air box... the TOOMEY 2:1 clamps right onto the carbs... Quote
