rmcoates01 Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 I ordered STD. pistons for my Banshee and they are to small. The old ones have the number 9945E stamped on top. Does anyone know how to tell what oversize these are? Or maybe I can buy a dial indicator but then how do I know what oversize I need? Quote
sheenut05mx Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 Is the piston forged or casted? Do you have and calipers to measure the piston? Quote
CRASHTH Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 MY SHEE WAS SO MESSED UP I HAD TO GO 40 OVER .ITS GREAT NOW THOUGH Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 If the pistons you ordered are too small, then it's time for a bore and hone. You will have to take the cylinders to a machine shop and have them measure them, so that you can order the rignt pistons and rings. After, and only after you get your pistons and rings, then the machinist can bore and hone your cylinders. They need to have the pisons, so they know what size to bore and hone the cylinders to. rmcoates01 Posted April 8, 2006 Author Report Posted April 8, 2006 I think it is cast. I can buy a dial indicator if that will help. Is the piston forged or casted? Do you have and calipers to measure the piston? 499169[/snapback] Quote
