CadillacBanshee Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 My friend has a 02 banshee with POS boost bottle and the feul line goes over it. Recently when we go riding, we have trouble getting feul through the lines that go to the carbs before warm up. We have to disconnect each carb feed. Well the question is: Could it be possible that the bike can starve when riding, or is it ok after we prime the hose? I told him to throw the boost bottle and the reed spacers away but he loves the pink power curve. Quote
steveodo Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Hey cadillac , Shoot i have my fuel line over my boost bottle an it works great . i have never heard of having to prime there carbs before you ride. Maybe try cleaning the carbs Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 The screens in the tank, that are on the top of the valve maybe plugged. Empty the tank, remove the fuel valve, and check the 2 screens. If they are dirty, you can clean them with carb cleaner, and a little air pressure. I've cleaned mine once, in 10 years, but that doesn't mean your friends aren't in need of a good cleaning. Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Does he run it out of gas after he shuts the fuel off? I used to run a fuel filter, and if I let the line run dry, I would get some sort of vapor lock because of the length of hose or something. I would have to turn the fuel on, let it sit for about 10 minutes until the glass filter element was full, then I could start it. I ditched the in line fuel filter and now its not a problem. Your buddy might have too many kinks and bends and shit in his line. Check it out and see if its a straight shot to the carbs or not. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted April 6, 2006 Author Report Posted April 6, 2006 The feul runs out when he shuts the feul off. Its a straight run and the lines are as short as can be made, the "T" sits about half an inch from the top of the bottle. The priming is no problem, my worry is the bike starving while riding. Theres no way to check it on the strip. Quote
