squish Posted April 4, 2006 Report Posted April 4, 2006 Leager had a cr500 link swing arm. This used the cr500 shock. I think this could be only used on the laeger banshee frame. The shock is 18.5 inches long. Quote
DRI4life Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 ok its been awile since iv been to his out in holtville wich is like a twenty min drive to glamis.. very covienent place to stay. anyways thats where he keeps his bike so i made sure i got the pics of what i was referring to. it was built by sundahl. check out the funky upper j-arm/d-arm/x-arm it looks a little overrbuilt IMO, dont know why a hiem is there but it looks cool. racer Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 the heim is there for convience. with a rigid mount or a bushing you have to have everything dead true. with the heim you can have like 20 * of misalignment and be ok. i see you point about the rear. look like a decent mod if yuou have a tig welder and a mill. that mount area has been built up and milled/grtound/filed flat to accomodate the bolt/nut combo. good lookin bike though. TT2 Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 6/22/06: I spoke with Sebastian at Elka today. They are in the process of designing a true, long travel linkage / shock combo for the Banshee (finally)...and I'm going to be among the first to have one so EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT! The system should be ready toward the end of July 2006 so start saving your pennies...you'll need about 100,000 of them. This setup will give 12" of rear wheel travel (over the stock 8.7") with a stock length swingarm. I'm using an Eyeball +2 so I'll be getting about 13.375" according to my calcs. I can't wait. With 12" travel in the front and over 13" in the rear...well...I just can't wait to hammer the rough shit with it. Over and out, -Tom Quote
