You have to have a way to SAFELY compress the spring.

 

Then you can push the rubber stopper up the shaft a bit.

 

Grab onto the portion of that shaft with a pair of channel locks/vise grips. Make sure its as close to that cad plated nut as you can get. It will bugger the shaft, but if its down low it won't damage the seals on your shocks.

 

Then put a wrench on the shock mount some how. Just find a way.

 

Thread it off.

 

SAFELY decompress your spring.

 

Done.

 

When you put it all back together, be sure to dab a little red Loc-Tite on those threads.

 

I've done this to 2 sets of shocks so far with no problems other than its a pain in the ass to get the spring compressed. Even with the nifty tool I made. Its safe, but it takes for fuckin ever.
