I run an NGK Iridium Xtreme plug in my Banshee Cub on alcohol and on gas. I believe it's the BR9EIX plug if memory serves me correctly. For oil in alcohol, I run Castor 927 with good results. I've also used Klotz Super Techniplate, but I like the Castor 927 better for alcohol.

i just run a b9es make sure it is atleast a number 9 and i used to run the b8egv's when on gas and was just going to run the b9egv's for alky but Andy at GRR told me the ends are too small and it will just burn off so make sure you don't run the plugs with a small tip. and for oil i also run castor 927 it mixes well with alky and doesn't have too strong of a smell either.

If the plug tip burns off of a spark plug, it usually means you're too lean, if you are talking alcohol, and that's not good.

I've burnt them off of plugs BR9ES plugs too. Fine wire plugs take less energy to spark, so more of the available energy goes to igniting the fuel.

well i know i ran the b9egvs with a little 200psi and it was buring the tips a little put the bigger tipped b9es in and no problem. i know she aint lean i think it was just a combination of alot of compression with 7 degree timing and the alcohol. my jets are .110 hole.

You probably were just a bit on the lean side.

I run .118" main jets, plus power jets on my motor with alcohol. I've run as much as 210 psi (18:1 UCCR on my setup...), with 7.5-9.5 degrees timing advance.

Any time you burn the tips off the plug, you're too lean. Regardless of the plug. Get them much leaner, then you have a hole in the piston....

damn .118 thats pretty big i also have power jets on my carbs. and 9.5 timing that is quite a bit too, how big is your engine?what is it? andy at GRR did my carbs and my first mains were .098 and i thought is was lean so i drilled some more.it always ran good on top until at the dunes when my left carb got plugged or something cause the hole in the piston thing you were talking about??? yeh look at my avatar. but the right side looked really good.

Yeah, being lean will cause that hole in the piston thing. My motor setup, at the time, when I burnt the plug tips off, was a 4 mill on ported OEM cylinders.

I now run a 4 mill Cub with 165 psi compression, but still run my timing anywhere from +5.5-9.5 degrees advance with a programmable Dyna cdi. I've also dropped my mains to 0.113"-.0116" depending on conditions.

I know of some that have ran mains quite a bit higher than mine (upper 0.120's)
