GSXKID Posted March 7, 2006 Report Posted March 7, 2006 Well I picked up a bashee for $1000, it seemed to be in good condition. It didnt run right but I figured hell its a complete banshee for $1000. I was thinking it was the jetting because it was spitting oil out the exhaust. I was reading on here that someone had similar problems and someone said it might be the crank seals. Does that sound right ? And its real smokey too, It almost feels like its running on one cylinder sometimes. I havent ridden it that much either maybe a couple short rides up my road. Can anyone help me, maybe give me some ideas where to start. Im pretty good with snowmobile motors but i have never torn down a quad motor, I figure its about the same. Thanks for any help Quote
wildwilly28 Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 if the extra smok is coming out the right exhaust then it is the crank seal right side crank seal on right side is exposed to tranny oil if it goes bad it will suck tranny fluid left side crank seal goes to stator side cover and will suck air. if it is sucking tranny fluid you have to split cases to replace seal splitting cases on a banshee is not very hard if you do snowmobiles a banshee will be a piece of cake good luck Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I personnally would check all the basic stuff first before I tore the motor down. might be as simple as the right carb needs to be cleaned and a new set of plugs. Quote
