460yfz Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 (edited) I just put a 4mi stroker cranck and 68mm cub in my shee, I know I need to get bigger carbs, but for now I would like to run the stock carbs. I put a 370 main, 40 pilot, it bogs really bad no bottom end at all. you have to rev the hack out of it to get it to take off, then when you shif into 2nd it just bogs down. before going to this set up I had a std. bore ported jugs and was running a 30 pilot,330 main and was running great. better than it does now. please help. 4mm/115 rods 68mm cub stock carbs t5's 20cc domes v-force reed valves Edited February 27, 2006 by 460yfz Quote
wesw Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 your pilot is way to large put the 30 in and she how it acts. you might put the needle 4/5 th clip and play with the mains. yeah some pwk 35s your really going to need. Quote
460yfz Posted February 27, 2006 Author Report Posted February 27, 2006 (edited) I'll give that a try and see how it works. what gearing you think would go good with than have a +8 swinger and 10paddle extremes on 8" wheels. thanks for your info man. on the sheares pipes are they inframe or out the frame drag pipes Edited February 27, 2006 by 460yfz Quote
wesw Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 try a 14-41 and start from there. depends on power, tires size, air pressure, the sand conditions. many things to account for like i told banshee223, got some sprockets. 13-16/39-44. try to get the highest gearing you can take off in sec thats what most do without bogging. but you need carbs before any of that. imo as for the shearers mine were inframes. 460yfz Posted February 27, 2006 Author Report Posted February 27, 2006 would the 34mm PJ be a decent carb? I see that most people use the 35mm PWk whats the difference besides on being 1mm bigger. any suggestions. Quote
Old Two-Smoke Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 I have a 4 mill cub on stock carbs. 310 main toomy needles 25 pilot jet. I am at 4000 feet. I drilled my pilot out to 26 the thing just screams. We put my sons 35s on it yesterday, it didnt have near as nice throttle response, but yes I m sure they make more power. I put my stock carbs back on it just spins like hell so I dont need any more power until I get it to hook I am running 22 razr 2s and 14-42 gearing. Quote
460yfz Posted February 28, 2006 Author Report Posted February 28, 2006 i tried a 30 the a 25 pilot is a little better, I had the vitos neddles on 4rd groove so I moved it to the 3rd grove. i'm going to mess with the mains got a 340 in it know. thanks for the advice everybody. Quote
