bkdamkr Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Puhleeeeze - what is the purpose of the tubes that attach to the bottom of the carbs' float bowls? Where do they lead? What do they do? Anyone want a free throttle cable assembly with the, what is it, TORS? gizmos? I just bought a complete setup and only need the raw carbs. Send me an address and they're yours. Thanks, waiting impatiently but hopefully... Brian Quote
ogre03 Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Follow the tubes and find out where they go Are you talking about the drain tubes that run off the bowls and down to the bottom of the bike? They connect to nothing Quote
bkdamkr Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 I don't have the tubes, or I'd follow them. All I have are carbs that I'm trying to plumb. I have fuel inlets, and some sort of short overflow tubes up higher on the side of the carb, and then these nipples on the very bottom of the float bowls. As soon as I know what they're for, I'll be able to finish my plumbing. Thanks. Where do yours go? Brian Quote

The only thing you need to plumb in is the fuel line, and make sure the choke crossover tube is on. Quote
bkdamkr Posted February 20, 2006 Author Report Posted February 20, 2006 Great! Thanks for the answer - two different overflow tubes! What's a "choke crossover tube"? I noticed that only one carb has a choke on it, so I assume that the crossover tube links the two carbs. Where does it attach? Thanks again, Brian Quote

Thanks again, Brian 476525[/snapback] The cross over tube will be in line with the choke knob itself. Just follow that from the left carb to the right carb. If you don't have it connected (this is on stock carbs by the way) the right carb will suck in air/sand/cow shit and make that cylinder run lean until it doesnt run anymore. Quote
