Winter Olympics

[PUSH THE THROTTLE]

I've been hearing about this the last couple of days and was curious to hear others thoughts on the subject. To be honest I've never looked at the Olympics as black and white, I just thought they were a coming together of what are supposed to be the best athletes at their current sports.

But he wants march madness to start so he can watch basketball, in which black are the majority. Certain people are better at different things, somehow this always suprises people. But other than the skiing, the olympics are pretty lame.

He's complaining about a lack of blacks at the winter olympics???

 

Wouldn't that be about like asians complaining about their only being one asian (Yao Ming) in the NBA?

 

Should we cut white athletes from our american olympic teams so that we can replace them with black athletes regardless of who is the better athlete, just so that we can say that our olympic team represents our country's true ethnic diversity?

 

Maybe the best solution to racial equality would be to have the "Black Winter Olympics", where black athletes are the only ones allowed to compete. They've done it with the black music awards, and all black colleges. If I remember correctly, over 40 years ago the supreme court forced schools to segregate to promote racial equality, so why is it that everytime we move closer to this, the black community is so quick to try and move this in the opposite direction?

how can someone complain about an olympic team not being diverse? its not like they go around and just choose a bunch of white people. Last I checked there are competitions to get into the olympics. So maybe they got onto the olympic team because they were better than everybody else??

 

And does having a team of white people make them not the greatest at their sport?? ok then, Lets trade Bode Miller with Shaquille O'neil, they're both athletes, and shaq is black, so he must be the better athlete.

blacks think they should have a part of everything, i think its funny how they think they deserve something because of slavery which happened like 150 years ago

The way I see it, every race has been screwed over during the course of history. Look at what the Jews endured in ww2. There are millions of people in slavery TODAY. I don't understand how any black person can use slavery as an excuse for anything, seeing as how they never were a part of it. My family is native american, but you won't ever catch them whining about all you pale faces in our country! It happened long ago, it sucked, yes, but it didn't happen in my life time, so how can I complain about it? Just my .02 cents.
