Shee-Male Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I've used Pro-X and Wiseco. I've had better luck with pro-x over the years but doesn't mean Wiseco is a bad piston. For higher horspower/compression motors that can be hard to tune and prone to detonation definitly Wiseco. Cast pistons will provide a better seal and less friction with less bore wear. In motors that can run cast, this is a better benefit. So when someone says that a forged pistons is a better piston than a cast, they really need to read this article. Cast V/S Forged Pistons 471113[/snapback] Good artical!! Of course the are refering to 4 stroke engines and in the end they state "To sum up, the cast piston is light and very demesionally stable. It is found in high-rpm mass-produced that are not subject to modification or proned to detination" If your banshee remains stock then a cast piston will do fine, if your going to advance the timing or up compression that makes it prone to detination! From an engine builder standpoint there would be no other choice then a forged piston for high performane 2 stroke. I personally run Keith Black cast pistons in my street car ...but thats a differant story Quote
