sparkdic Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Ok so he's the deal, I'm in the planning stages of my winter rebuild on the old shee. Now I've done lots of engine work before but this is the first I've ever tore into a shee. I have the engine all tore down, the cylinders r perfect so i'm not boring it, just giving it a quick hone job. I'm going to pop in some new pistons but not sure what to go with. I was looking at different wisco sets one was the pro-lites and the other was just stock replacements. I was also looking at reeds, which i was looking at using the stock cages but just wanted to freshen them up while its apart. all my other mods r as follows... fmf gold series pipes and silencers, stock carbs with limiters removed, K&n power kit, white bros boost bottle, i use the stock air box, and thats about it. As far as how i ride the bike, i mainly trail ride and hit the occational local hare scramble, of course my version of trail riding is almost like racing scrambles... but anyways any info but this matter can help and is appreciated.... thanks Quote
gipperz Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Use the pro-lites, get some v-force 3 reeds, advance your timing +4 deg. Get that flywheel lightened by boonman. Pull the top off that air box. Get an aftermarket head with 20 cc domes and let that b*tch eat. All these modes are well worth there money, even the v-force reeds. Make sure you get those cylinder checked, they might look good but they do oblong after time. and finally check your jetting. Good Luck Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 (edited) No. 1 GET A CLYMER MANUAL I would go VForce reeds, advance timing w/ ricky stator timing plate, aftermarket head of some sort. Noss or cool head. Next step would be a port job, then some bigger carbs. For trail riding I couldn't recommend anything other than the gorr woods port. Awesome port for low/midrange power. Haven't found anything else with this much bottom end power from a port job. Edited January 24, 2006 by BigRed350x Quote
sparkdic Posted January 24, 2006 Author Report Posted January 24, 2006 thanks alot so far guys. But right now I'm just going to barely do the main things like pistons and what not cuz my money sit. is pretty tight (not to meantion i have 2 cars apart that have to be ready for the spring). So gettin a new head and what not prolly won't be in the cards till next year. My friend has been trying for a while to get me a motofast kit from someone he knows that has a few in the garage but won't come off them . Quote
