CadillacBanshee Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 My friend is a bike mechanic and he told me that my crank seals are leaking and causing my bike to lose power. He said he can tell by the way my exhaust sounds...WTF is he talking about? He also said something about a vacuum in a crank case leaking and all kinds of other bs... Can any one tell me what the heck he is talking about? Quote
Wallrat Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Anytime you've got the cases split its a good idea to put in new seals. You can purchase a leakdown tester to see if you case is tight. Quote

MAG SIDE, REMOVE COVER WITH MOTOR RUNNING SPRAY A LITTLE BIT OF CARB.CLEANER BY THE SEAL. IF MOTOR REV'S UP WHEN APPLING CARB. CLEANER THEN YOUR SEAL IS SHOT----IF IT DOESNT REV.UP YOUR OK. YOUR RIGHT SEAL(CLUTCH) USUALLY DOESNT GO OUT UNLESS YOU HAVE A BAD BEARING OR IF YOUR CRANK HAS ALOT AND I DO MEAN ALOT OF TIME ON IT AND THE CRANK WEB HAS A SEAL GROVE WORN ON IT OR IF YOUR RIGHT CYLINDER/PIPE IS SMOKING MORE THAN USUAL. WHEN HE SAID HE CAN HERE IT ,WHAT DOES HE HERE? Quote
