CadillacBanshee Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 (edited) I wanna light up my quad with some blue leds and can't seem to find a good way to mount the led's. You guys got some ideas or pics of you projects? Anything will help. Edited January 5, 2006 by CadillacBanshee Quote
Wallrat Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 Do a search. Justintoxicated has a pretty technical setup using good 1 watt LED's, not those radio shack pieces. Its pretty blinding to be sure. I've seen a few bikes out there with regular LED's and it just isn't bright enough. Basically looks like crap. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted January 4, 2006 Author Report Posted January 4, 2006 Electrical Engineer here, whats technical? Quote
Bansh88 Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 These are bright at night. Come in many colors Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted January 5, 2006 Author Report Posted January 5, 2006 ok.....how does that help me? Are you gonna send me those? Quote
Wallrat Posted January 5, 2006 Report Posted January 5, 2006 Well he had to build somekind of regulation circuit and heat sinks to mount the luxeons to. But other than that it aint that difficult. Here's his original thread: CLICKY And in action: Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 To avoid building a rectifying ckt i'm going to mount a battery under the seat. I can't see any of his pics or circuits. Quote
Bansh88 Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 KINDA cool. Little too ghetto fabulous for me. Maybe click em on once in a while. Quote
Wallrat Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 To mount a battery you're going to need to convert the banshee to dc. Ok well you'll need to if you want the battery to be charged by the bike. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 You mean rectify it? Yeah i know. Got close ups of your led lights? Quote
Wallrat Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 That's not my bike. Its Justintoxicated's. You'd have to PM him for other pics. Trailtech sells the reg/rect. The whole dc conversion is really simple. Quote
