Sheeboy_12 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Juss wondering if yall knew the problem before i tear into it... It catches most of the time, BUT every now and then i'll be kickin and then there's no resitance so i basically kick the stopper REALLY hard. It's no big deal but i would like to solve the issue. FireHead Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 I have the same problem and would love to hear the answer to your question. Quote
strokersquid Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 better take off the clutch cover and take a look. if it was recently worked on it may not have been put together right. spring has to be put on the correct way, opposite the way it looks like it should. gear drive is nylon and breaks easily Quote
FASTOYS Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Usually the little spring on the starter shaft is getting weak and it allows it to just spin aroun too easy and not engage. Cheap fix , we stock what ya need! Also while your in there check your kicker idler gear for tilt/wear and make sure the circlip is still on! Quote
GYTWYPT Posted December 20, 2005 Report Posted December 20, 2005 More than likely it is a weak spring like he said. Tear into it and take it off and squeeze that spring to make it a little tighteron the starter shaft. If that helps like he said you might want to get a new one. Quote
